A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

What's totally fucked up about it is that the missiles are intended to down an airliner used as a missile aimed at the Olympic venue. But what happens to the aircraft after they shoot it down? It falls on civilian populations and immolates them.
I'd rather it be allowed to crash into the Olympic venue than to be deliberately shot down over people who have nothing to do with the international wank-fest and universal international economic boondoggle that is the Olympics.
Fucking Greece is going down the economic tubes and may take the rest of Europe with it in large part because it spent so much money on the Olympics...which it can't pay back.
How about building a PERMANENT Olympic venue in...wait for it...Greece.
Have the participating countries fund the refurbishment of the existing venue and hold the games there, where they should have been held all along.
Fucking nitwits host the Olympics and spend BILLIONS of dollars building venues that are useless fucking white elephants for anything else.
Colorado is the only state that's officially turned down the Olympics (winter version, in the 70's) because of the costs, and the Olympic Committee has never forgiven us (thank God) and recently rejected Denver for the Games (again, thank God). It's weird though because Colorado Springs hosts the US Olympic Training Center. Of course the city just gave them 5 million in public money to STAY here, and built them a new headquarters, after they threatened to leave.
It's a fucking racket of monumental proportions and isn't worth the investment any nation makes in it.

The money, Seth, the money. Having the Olympics in a town gets its name in the papers. so to speak, and the visitors get screwed six ways from Sunday by the locals.

I guess they're not smart enough to put them on the edge of town, where the plane will go down in farmland. Damn their eyes!

Yep, but if they're engaged at twenty miles it's a fair bet. Farther away is entirely possible. And, with cold cruel calculation, if you had to chose between a bedroom community and a stadium with 50,000 men, women and children in it, what's your call?Horwood Beer-Master wrote:Bit of an assumption.Gawdzilla Sama wrote:...where the plane will go down in farmland...

Hmmmmmm......how many of the 50,000 are corporate sponsors, members of the IOC, relatives of members of the IOC, or pets of relatives of members of the IOC?Gawdzilla Sama wrote:Yep, but if they're engaged at twenty miles it's a fair bet.
