I am very well prepared for emergencies...I just put one of those Costco buckets underneath our house of emergency food that could feed 6 people for 2 weeks. That's in addition to all regular emergency stuff (lanterns and fuel), camping stuff, water purifiers, (we can drink the hot tub water if we get desperate) and plastic sheeting and tape.
I figure two weeks is enough time to decide whether I want to live through the apocalypse or kill myself with an overdose of LSD or some other fun psychedelic.

Other things you may need...a wind-up torch and portable radio stored inside a tin to keep any high airborne emps from frying the circuits? dried skimmed milk? water cleaning tablets? large bin liners for relatives who don't make it?
