The CCC was likened to work camps by the Republicans. The workers got $20/week, 3/4 of that going home to help their families. The GOP said it was communism. The families that suddenly had some cash coming in thought differently. The Great Depression was a great chance for business men to step in and handle the situation. Unfortunately, they didn't have much interest in that.

Re-instate the workhouse for the feckless poor. I'm sure Apple would be in there in a flash, having 'em assemble iPhones.

Huxley Industries operates a string of workhouses across Europe and N.America - bed, board and half a rotten cabbage supplied every day and all you need to do is process spent nuclear fuel rods. I'll put you down for a place.

I love capitalism!

If this statement tries to claim what I think it tries to claim, you're insulting (non-human) animals. :nono:
"The internet is made of people. People matter. This includes you. Stop trying to sell everything about yourself to everyone. Don’t just hammer away and repeat and talk at people—talk TO people. It’s organic. Make stuff for the internet that matters to you, even if it seems stupid. Do it because it’s good and feels important. Put up more cat pictures. Make more songs. Show your doodles. Give things away and take things that are free." - Maureen J

I guess animals are honestly red in tooth and claw, they don't try to justify their actions with libertarian flim-flam.
