Isn't any job better than unemployment compensation? And, screedy? That's my experience of it. You get up against it, and you fucking figure it out. And, frankly, after growing up with my parents (immigrants who in the 1960s came to the US with a little change in their pockets, goin' jingle-ingle-ingle), my uncle, who joined the merchant marines when he was 16 years old in the 1950s and made it to the US. My various immigrant (including some illegal immigrant) friends who struggled to get here because they longed for the OPPORTUNITY to do what many Americans complain about... I find it hard to reconcile my life experience with the 99%-er-OWS-er positions. I don't identify with them.Gawdzilla wrote:Screedy, screedy man.The point was that there are few jobs to be had, and "Any job." could wind up as being a job that pays less than it takes to keep alive. Twenty hours a week at a Wal-mart 45 miles away? Won't pay for the gas and still give you enough to feed the family. That fucker is simply arrogant.
I identify more with this sentiment:
"Tomorrow's gettin' harder, make no mistake
Luck ain't even lucky, gotta make you're own breaks"
"Better stand tall when they're callin' you out
Don't bend don't break, baby, don't back down."
Or, one can quit because it's hard. Either way.
