Given the recent history of our politicians I am more than ready to be hasty - they appear pretty universally to be dishonest twats. I doagree with you about the area of wrongdoing of course. And to repeat, I have nothing against his sexuality, whatever it may be, just the dishonesty and how vulnerable it could make him.

From that article ..
Asked on Radio 4's "Today" programme about rumours that Fox was "a promiscuous homosexual," fellow Cabinet minister Chris Grayling, the employment secretary, said: "If you look around the Westminster village you will find all kinds of wild gossip about all kinds of individuals in all parties. That doesn't mean they are not good at their jobs. I have known Liam for many years. I know him and his wife, and they have always struck me as being a happily married couple. The reality is that the gossip is certainly circulating.

"I think we have got past the point in politics, though, where we needed to worry about people's private lives. The question is, is somebody doing an important, capable job."
(my bold) More of this, please.

Now he's half way out he might as well come all the way? There's nothing to fear except the derision of the Biritsh press and the vitriol of the British army/airforce(don't know about the navy, he'll be welcome there?). :smoke:

And yes to Charlou's point. A person's private life is private. A compromised, dishonest and deceitful life - and one that is getting out of control, if indeed that is happening does not make for a good senior government minister I would suggest.
