In no certain order and certainly with omissions and maybe faults. The USA has made its short blimp in history, and now it's up to you to keep your torch alight. The rest of the world will go on, with or without you.

We could win, yes, if nothing else by using nukes as laklak says. Occupation is a lot tougher. Why didn't I think of that. If that market opened up nobody else could possibly fill the niche. Seth, you just don't get it. The US market is non-existent, it is all made up of debt. The Chinese will become the largest market in the world and grow once it doesn't have to keep propping up the deadbeat drunk that is America.

What's going to happen when China's workers get the higher wages? They'll probably buy our stuff.Gawd wrote:Seth, you just don't get it. The US market is non-existent, it is all made up of debt. What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

No need, the Chinese workers already make all your stuff.
Re: US Has No Ability to Pay Back Debt
American made stuff already have the reputation of being low quality because American workers don't work as hard as the Chinese ones.klr wrote:I can see it now: "Shoddy American imports ..."Robert_S wrote:What's going to happen when China's workers get the higher wages? If money were real, it would be a problem.

Re: US Has No Ability to Pay Back Debt
It's all very well lowering taxes, and then lowering them again, and again over a 2-decade period, but that way, at some point, the government isn't going to be able to pay its debts. We can merrily discuss theories around where America goes after reaching its relative economic zenith, and the decline of US power is jolly interesting I'm sure, but sooner or later all governments in the west are going to have to rely on tax not more debt to meet the demands on them. I know the rich aren't happy about it, having successfully cut big government already, but the equation in play is really a rather simple one: income and expenditure must, over time, balance.

The Republicans only care about pleasing their owners. So taxes for the rich will be held artificially low.
