I had a 17yr old girlfriend we stayed together for nearly 4 years .I don't feel that it was wrong ,
I would feel it was wrong. I was with a 17 year old when I was 26 but, she was very intelligent and mature for her age so I'm not saying that I think its an absolute moral. With this other wan, well she's just like a little girl to me. She just has a silly crush because she probably thinks I'm outrageous or something. Her friends keep saying, 'She's mad into you,' and I end up changing the subject real fast. Its not the first time I've been in this situation either. Its always the girls I want nothing to do with that are into me and the ones I really like, usually, just think I'm an oddball and want nothing to do with me.

Anyway I wouldn't worry about it. I hate teenage girls. I find them more annoying than anything else. I usually don't be with anyone more than 5 years younger than me.
Wait til you hit 40. Then you'll be paying $200/hr for someone 15 years younger.

I am missing in this picture what the girl in question wants or wanted. The article says she consented, but is that because she wanted to or because it was a minor inconvenience to her?

Well, I usually don't go below 24 -25 but, that age doesn't seem to increase with mine
My dad married me aul one when he was 35 and he's 10 years older than her.

I'm guessing that's all she had to trade for room and board. Better than living on the streets, I'd imagine.

I think payment can come in different forms, and I would think letting her stay at his house and giving her pocket money would count as payment. I did start having sex when I was 16, but I don't know how comfortable I'd feel with a man that much older than me. This girl was in a completely different situation than me though. She was taking care of herself for 2 years. That usually brings about a certain amount of maturity.

If she's physically old enough and not mentally incapable of giving consent then it is consensual, whatever the age. The law is only ever a blunt instrument in such cases. There are 13 year olds that know exactly what they are doing, take precautions, and are happy to do it; likewise, there are 20 year olds that haven't a clue and end up getting pregnant because some bloke tells them they can't if they do it standing up. FFS, there are 20 year olds that don't even know that sex leads to pregnancy!
