WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Capping a singularly disastrous week for the Commander-in-Chief, Donald J. Trump stormed out of a Washington, D.C., McDonald’s restaurant on Friday after failing to close a six-dollar Meal Deal at the establishment.

At approximately 12:30 p.m., Trump took a break from his designated “executive time” to travel to the nearby McDonald’s, where he placed an order for a Meal Deal consisting of a Quarter Pounder with cheese, fries, Coke, and an apple pie.

Tracy Klugian, the McDonald’s employee who took Trump’s order, said that he was aware of Trump’s difficulty in closing deals and therefore hiked the price of the Meal Deal to twelve dollars.

“I really thought he would drive a harder bargain, what with ‘The Art of the Deal’ and all,” the McDonald’s staffer said. “I was kind of surprised when he just bailed.”

Q-Poll: Trump Committed Crime Before Election, Most Say
Sixty-four percent of voters say Donald Trump committed crimes before he became president, a new Quinnipiac University poll reveals.

Twenty-four percent do not share in the belief, however.

Here are the highlights from the poll released Tuesday:
  • 48 percent of Republicans said Trump did not commit crimes before he was president, while 33 percent disagree.
  • 45 percent believe Trump committed crimes while he has been president, compared to 43 percent who disagree.
  • 59 percent say Congress should not begin impeachment proceedings, while 35 percent disagree.
  • 58 percent say congress should do more to probe claims by Trump's former attorney Michael Cohen, while 35 percent say it should not.
  • 50 percent believe Cohen more than Trump, compared to 35 percent who believe Trump.
  • 51 percent disapprove of the way Republicans handled the Cohen hearing, while 25 percent approve.
  • 65 percent say Trump is not honest, compared to 30 percent who say he is.
  • 38 percent approve of the job Trump is doing as president, compared to 55 percent who disapprove.

Result! Art of the deal! Winning (so much winning).

'North Korea rebuilding long-range rocket site, photos show'
North Korea is pursuing the "rapid rebuilding" of the long-range rocket site at Sohae Launch Facility, according to new commercial imagery and an analysis from the researchers at Beyond Parallel.

Sohae Satellite Launching Station, North Korea's only operational space launch facility, has been used in the past for satellite launches. These launches use similar technology to what is used for intercontinental ballistic missiles.

"This renewed activity, taken just two days after the inconclusive Hanoi Summit between President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, may indicate North Korean plans to demonstrate resolve in the face of U.S. rejection of North Korea's demands at the summit to lift five U.N. Security Council sanctions enacted in 2016-2017," the analysts said. As NBC News reported, Beyond Parallel, a project sponsored by the defense think tank Center for Strategic and International Studies, recently identified 20 undisclosed missile sites in North Korea.

Looks like Kim never wanted to do anything like stopping his nuke tests and long range missile stuff, he just wanted to see if he could extract interesting concessions from the frump, and when he could not have his way like a red carpet, he just ridiculed the orange scrote.

Kim got Trump to discontinue military exercises with the US ally South Korea. Trump got 'beautiful letters' in return, so I suppose it's all good.

Another particularly nasty scumbag for Trump gets a high court position.

Allison Rushing, Warrior for Anti-LGBTQ Extremist Group, Confirmed to Lifetime Seat on Court of Appeals

“Throughout her brief legal career, Allison Rushing has supported and closely associated herself with one of the most extreme anti-LGBT organizations operating in this country today, the Alliance Defending Freedom. Rather than disqualifying her from consideration, this aspect of her record seems to have made up for all of the other deficiencies in her record, including her inexperience and he lack of any connection to the state in which she will sit.

"Despite her denunciation of the Supreme Court’s marriage equality decision in United States v. Windsor, and her commitment to ADF’s mission to recriminalize homosexuality and sterilize the transgender community, all 53 Republican Senators voted to confirm her. Today is a very difficult and disappointing day for the roughly 1 million LGBT people who live in the states covered by the Fourth Circuit, and for all people who care about courts that can treat all people with dignity and fairness.”

Elsewhere:
Following that failed stand-up routine at CPAC, most of us out here are no longer bothering with evaluating the impact of Trump's popularity poll numbers. Instead, we are wondering: What the actual **** is wrong with your president??! And do you have a backup?

My response: He’s working on his new career. He’ll be appearing in Vegas to sell out crowds at 10 dollar shows, 3 shows per day. In Vegas. If the show is sold out, you can visit President Trump wax museum! Measure Stormy and Melania bosom and waist yourself if you buy the 15 dollar souvenir tape!

Doing the bidding of Christian zealots has produced a counterproductive result.

'Abortions rise worldwide when US cuts funding to women’s health clinics, study finds'
Fulfilling Republican efforts to “defund Planned Parenthood,” the Trump administration announced on Feb. 22 it would end federal funding to health providers that perform abortions.

This new ruling is the domestic version of the “global gag rule” that Trump imposed in 2017. It cuts U.S. global health funding from organizations abroad that perform – or even talk about – abortions, including the International Planned Parenthood Federation.

First implemented under Ronald Reagan in 1984, the global gag rule has been rescinded by every Democrat and reinstated by every Republican to occupy the Oval Office, reflecting the partisan nature of abortion.

Supporters of the global gag rule say defunding abortion providers will reduce abortions. However, researchers from Stanford University in 2011 found that this U.S. policy actually made women in sub-Saharan Africa twice as likely to have an abortion.

...

My new study, published in November 2018, confirms those findings in Africa and shows that the global gag rule had an even greater effect in Latin America.

Analyzing abortion data from 51 developing countries between 2001 and 2008 – which encompassed the reproductive decisions of about 6.3 million women – I found that women in Latin America were three times more likely to have an abortion while the global gag rule was in effect.

Reflecting this impact, the percentage of pregnancies in Latin America that ended in abortion rose from 23 percent in 1994, under the Clinton administration, to 32 percent by 2010, after two terms of the Bush administration.
...

Funding cuts under the global gag rule cause health care staff reductions, clinic closures and contraceptive shortages. Without family planning counseling and birth control, there are more unintended pregnancies – and, consequently, more abortions.

Looks like Tariff man’s key trade policy is up the shitter too, with a growing, not reducing deficit. Simple minds seek simple solutions. Maybe a key problem for much of the right.

Trump dealt blow as US trade deficit jumps http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-47472282

They're already blaming the deficit on welfare, which they'll inevitably cut.

Utter evil bastards.
