I'm confused. With condoms, fewer new HAMAS would be born.

Trump: "We identified and stopped $50 million being sent to Gaza to buy condoms for Hamas." (This is a lie.)

Trump says he is opening a detention center at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba to hold up to 30,000 migrants from the United States.
We’re only one week in, and we’ve already reached the concentration camp stage of fascism.

The president now holds more than half of his wealth in crypto, Danielle Allen reports. With his memecoin $TRUMP, “he has turned himself—and therefore his office—into a for-profit joint-share stock corporation.”

Elsewhere, guy says Trump wants to be popular. It is now secondary. He has a faithful 20% of the voters.

I explained it:
Except for revenge. He does not think he will be fuhrer.Too much work. Turning on water in California was a lot or work. Maybe Vance is going to take it up, once Trump has paved the way. No, his entire goal is revenge. The entire year. He might be afraid of dying. Better get things done now, including revenge measures. Then bask in the glory and play golf the last 3 years. He will be doing rallies those years. Because he can. It does not say in the constitution he can't rally for the future of MAGA. He can just pretend it's a third term. But in 2027 he will announce his retirement to a custom nursing home in Mar a Lago. He will call it a club. For senior statesmen. Small charge for Elon to stay a while. Elon has no family for Thanksgiving.

Trump fires the head of the TSA, guts their key safety committee, and gets rid of the head of the coast guard because they didn’t vote for him, and now we have a Black Hawk helicopter crashing into a commercial airliner in Washington DC. This is 100% his fault. My heart goes out to those families.

Stand down, MAGA...four years of Biden and not a single commercial airline disaster.

On Tuesday, January 22, the Aviation Security Advisory Committee’s members received a memo from the Trump administration saying that the Department of Homeland Security was getting rid of the membership of all advisory committees in a “commitment to eliminating the misuse of resources and ensuring that DHS activities prioritize our national security.” At the same time, Trump also fired the heads of the Transportation Security Administration and the Coast Guard.

Elsewhere,
Dindsdale
Was speaking with one of our office’s managers this morning. They informed me that late last night they had received notice that our Agency WAS NOT going to require union staff to RTO. I haven’t been able to find confirmation anywhere, but as I asked them, “How many times has this changed over the last week and a half?” They responded, “Three.” I observed that there was plenty of time for it to change many more times in the 4 weeks before 2/28 - the initial RTO date.

The manager also told me that several people in our office sound like they are going to accept the “deferred resignation” offer (or whatever that is best called.) They commented that, one way or another, management needs to be able to know how to staff our office’s various functions, and such staffing decisions generally require at least a little notice. But I guess that isn’t important…

They commented that staff are calling them all day every day with all manner of questions, and expressing their concerns and confusion. I don’t have to deal with anyone’s concerns other than my own. It would be challenging and stressful to be a manager and have to field so many questions for which you had so few answers.

Multiply the stress and time spent on such matters by 2 million employees across how many 10s of thousands of offices nationwide, and explain to me how that increases efficiency.

It seems to me that free trade is a US ideal that few others can afford to take up, ergo Canada's protectionist take on agriculture. In that instance Canada is protecting its farmers, and the US--which has few small farms--is looking to expand market share. Both countries face completely different problems.

In my opinion that difference makes this a moral/ethics question. Is it moral for the US to force its way into a smaller trading partner's key industries for the sake of growth alone?

Maybe we've already seen money's answer: it is if we're really just the same country anyway.

Canadian farmers send wheat to Europe. They can, it is not GMO.

Meanwhile:
From Fox News: "RFK crushed it," conservative commentator Charlie Kirk posted on X. "Very proud of him. Confirm him, now!" "RFK killed it today," RNC national committeewoman Amy Kremer posted on X." So proud of him! LFG." RFK Jr is crushing this hearing," former GOP Rep. Scott Taylor posted on X. "Dems look unhinged and very petty. America is sicker, more obese, and more unhealthy than ever. Something has to change!" "The room ERUPTED in applause IMMEDIATELY after RFK Jr’s confirmation hearing concluded," conservative commentator Benny Johnson posted on X. "Confirm him." "Absolute masterclass," Trump 2024 Deputy Rapid Response Director Greg Price posted on X during the hearing.
RFK Jr is doing a Trump thing. It only matters how he looks, and he is doing the best job he can looking tough. Trump might give him a C+ for TV appearance. All that matters to Trump. Then, revenge on Fauci. Take away his pension. Even look at his gov't version of 401k.
