Trump: It's over.

Post by Animavore » Wed Feb 27, 2019 9:03 am

(Time to start a new thread)

The most astonishing thing about Cohen's testimony is how unastonishing it is. We already knew Trump was a lying, conniving, self-serving piece of shit with no redeeming qualities.

“In July 2016, days before the Democratic convention, I was in Mr Trump’s office when his secretary announced that Roger Stone was on the phone. Mr Trump put Mr Stone on the speakerphone,” Cohen’s opening statement reads.

“Mr Stone told Mr Trump that he had just gotten off the phone with Julian Assange and that Mr Assange told Mr Stone that, within a couple of days, there would be a massive dump of emails that would damage Hillary Clinton’s campaign. Mr Trump responded by stating to the effect of ‘wouldn’t that be great.’”

“In conversations we had during the campaign, at the same time I was actively negotiating in Russia for him, he would look me in the eye and tell me there’s no business in Russia and then go out and lie to the American people by saying the same thing,” Cohen will say. “In his way, he was telling me to lie.”

“Mr Trump did not directly tell me to lie to Congress. That’s not how he operates,” he will add.

Yeah, but everybody lies. There's nothing illegal about that. :tea:

Based on Michael Cohen’s opening statement, it will be riveting watching him publicly testify about how Trump committed so many acts of business fraud including, believe it or not, paying someone to bid on a portrait of himself through his non-profit. Trump kept the painting!

Another scumbag for Trump.
Less than 24 hours before former Trump fixer Michael Cohen is scheduled to appear in an open hearing to discuss his relationship with the President of the United States and shed light on his involvement in a hush money scheme involving two women alleging they had affairs with the billionaire businessman, Florida Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz directly threatened Cohen via Twitter.

Pitiful GOP attempt to stop the hearing.
Democrats responded by forcing a roll call vote knocking down the GOP request. “You've made it clear that you do not want the American people to hear what Mr. Cohen has to say, but the American people have a right to hear him. So we're going to proceed. The American people can judge his credibility for themselves,” Cummings said.

Cohen — who pleaded guilty to lying to Congress and financial crimes related to the hush-money payment — expressed remorse for working as the president’s fixer. He testified that he was no longer interested in protecting the president, who repeatedly claimed he had no knowledge of the hush-money payments to Daniels.

Plenty of damning stuff so far today and a glimpse into the venal, corrupt, and self-serving, so-called president.

Shame the cultists have been so inoculated against the truth they'll only see lies as instructed from their glorious leader.
