People complain endlessly that they're sick of politicians, and they're sick of dishonesty.

So now here we have a guy running for the top job who isn't a politician, who openly tells all and sundry that he's a groper and a voyeur, and the people are still not happy.

At the very least, you hope this sordid episode reminds folk of the value of politicians, and the value of guarded political speech.
100% verifiable facts or your money back. Anti-fascist. Enemy of woo - theistic or otherwise. Cloth is not an antiviral. Imagination and fantasy is no substitute for tangible reality. Wishing doesn't make it real.

for me - I agree Trump talked like a "lad" with unfortunate references to touching women and in a rather objectifying fashion. But, men and women both tend to get very colorful and extreme when chatting among themselves. If you hear the stories about past Presidents - Kennedy- for example, the vaunted JFK - he was very much of a womanizer and objectifier - he was banging interns in the White House, etc. Former White House intern Mimi Alford alleged that JFK 'took her virginity', without her consent(certainly without her modern day "verbal, enthusiastic and ongoing" consent), told her to perform sex acts on his friend while he watched, and made her take drugs - at one point she thought she was pregnant with JFK's child and he offered to arrange an illegal abortion.

Lyndon Johnson held staff meetings while he was on the toilet, and showed everyone his giant penis to impress them. When people mentioned Kennedy's many affairs, Johnson would bang the table and declare that he had more women by accident than Kennedy ever had on purpose. He was said to have "collected" women, felt entitled to their services, and Lady Bird knew about them, from Alice Glass, a very public relationship that began in the 1930s and lasted decades, to Helen Gahagan Douglas, who served in the House, to a woman who claimed Johnson was the father of her child and to whom he paid support for many years. He was crass and letcherous when talking about women.

I mean - does anyone really think there is a difference between powerful, type-A, egomaniacal men who are politicians and Donald Trump, other than the fact that Donald doesn't have the tact to keep his mouth shut?

Come on!

And, Hillary has a mouth, too - reportedly abusing staff and secret service personel -- calling them motherfuckers and such. She called people Jew Bastards, and is renowned to go on tirades of expletives like crazy. All in private. All covered up. All with the public personae held firmly in place. The trained public speeches, saying just what we want to hear. The private vs public positions on issues, that we've seen her admit to via Wikileaks.

One of the refreshing things about Trump is that he's like - look - the system is rigged, and I know because I was one of the rich guys buying politicians. I paid them money because I knew that they would then pick up the phone for me. He's a womanizer and a letch, sure. But he's not the first one of those in the white house.

Fuck the Republican Party -- it needed to be torn apart. It has been owned by the religious right for 3 decades and if I had to go through another Presidential run with some moralizing douchebag like Ted Cruz babbling on about their moral, religious conservatism, I would puke. I want a business guy. A guy who will fight. A guy who wants to get a job done and not sit around blathering on about gay marriage, the moral majority and family values. Enough! Get to work! Fix the economy, and get the US on the right track.
“When I was in college, I took a terrorism class. ... The thing that was interesting in the class was every time the professor said ‘Al Qaeda’ his shoulders went up, But you know, it is that you don’t say ‘America’ with an intensity, you don’t say ‘England’ with the intensity. You don’t say ‘the army’ with the intensity,” she continued. “... But you say these names [Al Qaeda] because you want that word to carry weight. You want it to be something.” - Ilhan Omar

A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

Yeah, every state has a parliament and a Premier. All have two houses (upper and lower) except Tasmania, with a single house.

YUGE!
People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

I knew Taz was small, but to the point of having only one house is excessive.
