I feel like such a girl trying to get from 92kg to 85 or so and having a bitch of a time at it. Just got to 89.

Your body adjusts to your caloric intake and expenditure, so you have to ramp up every time you hit a plateau.

Your body is trying to kill you.

You started around 200 lbs?
From kg to lbs: Kgx2 and add 10%
From lbs to kg: lbs-10% and divide by 2.
So, 92 kg=92x2+10%(92x2)=184+18.4=202.4 lbs

I'm not sure what is supposed to be wrong with learning survival skills for the inevitable zombie apocalypse. Why some of my friends and I are going on such a course next year (I was also a Scout).

Sure I find it implausible a "Barackalypse" will happen (what an ugly, clumsy union of two words, as bad as "mansplaining", well not everyone's a poet), not to mention somewhat paranoid and hysterical, but that doesn't mean some other fucked up catastrophe won't happen at any time.

A primary axiom of emergency response is "In a crisis you will revert to your training." The corollary that's important here is "If you do not train, in a crisis you will do nothing."

That's the best reason to train for the worst-case scenario I can think of.

I remember watching Chris Ryan training pencil pushers in survival. They had simulators of airplane crashes in huge swimming pools and everything, the logic being after a couple of times you won't panic and become so accustomed you go into survival mode without thinking as well as other various training used by the SAS. Well if that's such a bad thing then I must be the worst person on the planet for wanting to have a go at that. I don't want to be the person panicking when the wreckage spills. I want to be the one leading those who want to follow and ditching the liabilities.

And I want to be well-trained and proficient in marksmanship and tactics from CQB hand-to-hand to extreme long-range sniping and everything in between if and when the wheels come off. Which is why I go to the range and take courses in firearms handling and tactics.

If it's good enough for the SEALs, it's good enough for me.

I'm not sure to what extent you can train this stuff in Ireland. Doing martial arts covers hand-to-hand and weapons training with knives, swords and such. You can shoot on any range no problem and won rifles and shotguns with a licence, though not handguns, automatic weapons or explosives. I wonder does anyone do a Rangers (sort of Irish SAS, meant to be among the best in the world, but I'm sure they all say that) style training any where? Must look into it.

ableist? yep.

give a fuck? no.
Outside the ordered universe is that amorphous blight of nethermost confusion which blasphemes and bubbles at the center of all infinity—the boundless daemon sultan Azathoth, whose name no lips dare speak aloud, and who gnaws hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time and space amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes.
