The lawmakers are not so stupid as you are. Certain actions remove the offence back into the criminal process. Driving at 30kph above the speed limit is automatic ban for three years. Double the speed limit licence is gone and so is your car. The last is very true of supercar drivers. Our speed limit is 100kph darling. Do 200kph and byebye car and license.
You can buy the super car on the government auctions. A colleague of mine bought an ex-police Subaru at one those auctions. It was used for high speed pursuits and had a top speed of 300kph. He managed to get a fine when turning out of our entrance gate.

In one of his most disgustingly electoralist recent moves, macron is inviting a notorious centre left leader as "high commissary to the plan".

This is obviously a move to make said leader an ally for next presidential election, as France forgot about planned economics for the last 40 years, when regular reversals of electoral choices made it impossible for a given party or leader to really make effective middle range planning. To boot, unless macron actually gets a second term, whatever plan bayrou may be there to oversee will become totally moot as it is unlikely the next administration will want to go on with it, and anyway, given that macron's term has only less than two years left to last, that plan will barely have had time to be formalized before it gets buried in the next electoral landslide.
