That is more practicable but this is far more ECO friendly:

The box itself is designed to handle a payload of up to 125kg. Once you add, say, 25kg for the box, 30 kg for the vehicle and whatever the rider weighs you're looking at a total near the quarter ton mark. I'd say it is a battery powered, person assisted setup.
Commentary starts at the three minute mark. The speaker claims each cargo carrier can save up to 16 tons in CO2 emissions per year doing inner city deliveries.

The DHL one is pure muscle power. I see it often in our district. It moves fast but is a nuisance on the cycle lane as it is a shade too wide. They usually use the car lane.

Muscles require food and are not that efficient in moving kgs of stuff around.Scot Dutchy wrote: ↑Wed Jun 30, 2021 11:15 amThe DHL one is pure muscle power. I see it often in our district. It moves fast but is a nuisance on the cycle lane as it is a shade too wide. They usually use the car lane.
In all a large carbon foot print. Diesel trucks have a lower carbon emission per km/ton moved.

Not what the experts say when talking about inner-city conditions. A saving of 16tons. Large trucks are not even allowed with the city's boundaries. Also remember how flat we are. Many mothers use cargo bikes to transport their magic moments around.
