Because that's the way it is. He is the President-elect because according to the law the election results show that he has the requisite number of Electoral votes to be elected President by the Electoral College. That the Electoral College actually casts the vote in which he is confirmed as President-elect until Dec 19th is merely a housekeeping issue...usually. It is presumed that the Electors will vote as their state and districts command them to vote based on the vote tally, and in most states the law REQUIRES them to do so. But there are some states that do not have that requirement which results in the possibility of "faithless electors" who refuse to cast their vote according to the vote tally.tattuchu wrote:Really confuzled right now.
