Actually he has an obligation to the citizens of Florida and other coastal areas, who are seeing their cities being flooded. He has an obligation to the citizens who are being hit by extreme weather. He has an obligation to Pacific islanders whose whole island nations are being sucked under sea. He has an obligation to the prevent coral regions going extinct and affecting the hundreds of millions who live off them... And so forth.

If Trump thinks he has no civic obligations then this shows exactly why he is, as everyone has being saying, profoundly unfit for the job of President of the US.

Insurance companies (healthcare too) can maintain profit growth by reducing levels of cover and pushing up prices. At least in the short term, which is the only term that matters these days. The point is that profits will always Trump social considerations. If the US think they've just elected a man of and for the people then they're playing a hopeless game of poker with a shit hand dealt from the bottom of the pack and worthless chips.
