All problems that would be drastically reduced if prostitution was not illegal, withdrawing the power from pimps and making it a lawful, regulated, taxpaying profession. Inexpensive, safe, legal prostitution would cut out the illegal trafficking market just like repealing Prohibition ended bootlegging.

They can't choose to do it as a career because in most places its illegal. In the places where it is legal, however, the women are: (a) safer, (b) disease free, (c) in control of their bodies and their careers, (d) less prone to be on hard drugs, and (e) able to keep more of the money they make because it's not robbed from them by pimps and dirty cops.

Douche - the US doesn't "lack an economic safety net." If you lose your flippin' job, we have unemployment compensation insurance, just like you lot. If you're poor, you get welfare and health insurance through Medicaid. If your'e disabled you can get SSI disability insurance and state disability benefits. There are "food stamp" programs for the needy. The elderly get Medicare and Social Security benefits. The US is loaded with safety nets. Fuck off with this "no economic safety net" bullshit. What is it that you think the US is? The fucking wild west?
