sweets stuff, except the HD is kinda cramped, and you'd have to pay me, handsomely so, to use something that doesn't have a real mouse and a full size keyboard.

sweets stuff, except the HD is kinda cramped, and you'd have to pay me, handsomely so, to use something that doesn't have a real mouse and a full size keyboard.

50 gig is plenty, if you use USB hard drives like I do.
And I also prefer a USB keyboard and mouse while using my laptop, so neither would influence me. ( actually, my 15 inch fujitsu siemans does have a full size keyboard, I just prefer a wireless usb one ).

I must admit I never had the budget for a collection of USB hard drives, nor ever got motive to want to have a computer on the go.

Wish they'd dump some on the U.S. market. I've got two old Acer Travelmate 804s, use them every day. Both about 5 years old and working just fine.

I use the laptop mainly as a video recorder. Got a little usb tv card that records perfect video straight to hard disk.
It's actually cheaper than buying blank dvds.
I can get a 2,000 gig HD for sixty quid. That's the equivalent of 425 rewritable dvds, which would probably set you back £200 or more.
And it's easier to find what you want on hard disk.

With my alzheimers, I can enjoy watching a program a week after I last watched it, so I can't go wrong.

Top tip of the day, go to Staples and look for the Aspire 5553, I got one of the last three. Price, £329. Sounds a lot but bare in mind this used to retail upwards of £700. Also they offered a weighty £60 trade-in on a working old lappy, mine just about worked, so the final price was £270!

Sounds very good. The phenom 2 x4 and the i5 have a huge spread of models, but even if it was the lowest spec, that's a potent bundle.
More use to a gamer than an average user though, I probably wouldn't notice any difference at all, with what I use mine for.
