Maybe it's not so different from Norway then. I think we have lower taxes in the north as a stimulus to encourage growth of the region. But I'm not sure how much higher the taxes are in the south (if they are). Maybe Eriku or someone can shed light on that.
Well, to be fair I make pretty good money and that's after I pay for my health insurance, train pass, state taxes, as well as putting 8% of each check into retirement fund. Though I'd be shocked if I ever see a cent that I've paid into social security

With the rumblings I've heard about some fairness legislation in the works, you may be lucky to see the fruits of your 401k retirement savings.... there have been bills floated that would allow the Fed to take those funds. Well, all the more reason to pull it out and invest it myself as I've been thinking of doing. I'll get taxed hard but the money my work has matched and already vested will make it not so bad.
