People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.
But those letters are not silent.
They're just waiting their turn.

If you call a head dress that looks like a turban a turban, then the Moslems wear them in some places. The Tauregs certainly call them turbans.tattuchu wrote:Well I'm an ignorant American![]()

Whoever they are, they should replace them with turbines. Preferably one running at full rpm, and facing downwards...

Alas not. Sikhs have had exemption from wearing motorcycle helmets in the UK for some time.Deep Sea Isopod wrote:Anyway, the riot helmet is safety gear. Surely personal safety comes before all else?

I get quite annoyed about kosher and halal meat being allowed for religious reasons. We have animal welfare laws for a a good purpose, ignoring them for religious reasons is fucking shit.

Re: Sikh cop wins turban row.
it does anger me a lot that they are allowed to have special rules which circumvent our laws on the humane treatment of animals. It doesn't matter specifically what their methods are, just that they allow more suffering than the legal requirements for all other animals. The logical reasoning follows that if I created a religion in which all animals were to be ritually killed by having their skin peeled off while still alive, the law could (at least in theory) encompass this.Deep Sea Isopod wrote:Yeah, I saw a YT vid when they killed a cow for Kosher. It would pass, you mean. It's cruel and inhumane to deny you your religious rights.
We can be inhumane to animals though, as they're not human so it's okay.
