He got special treatment regardless. Didn't spend months languishing in some hell-hole operated for profit by a crony of the regime. Wasn't deported to a random country to which he had no previous connection, where a language is spoken that he doesn't understand. I think it's likely that his experience in custody of the lovely ICE people was objectively less unpleasant than what the average undocumented person they've kidnapped goes through.
