WASHINGTON — A senior official at the Federal Emergency Management Agency instructed subordinates to freeze funding for a wide array of grant programs Monday, just hours after a federal judge ordered the Trump administration — for the second time — to stop such pauses.
In an email with the subject line “URGENT: Holds on awards,” Stacey Street, the director of the agency’s Office of Grant Administration, told her team to freeze funding for grant programs going back several years, including those focused on emergency preparedness, homeland security, firefighting, protecting churches from terrorism and tribal security.

This is likely to be the first crack in the rule of law at the Federal level. Unless this Stacey Street person is found in contempt of the court that issued this order the wall will quickly crumble and the Judicial branch will lose all relevance when it comes to orders Trump/Musk dislike.

As discussed upthread, SCOTUS and the other courts have no ability to order law enforcement to stop this coming chaos. From where I sit it looks like this could well be the first step to a civil war.

What happens when Governors start ordering State Police to detain any Federal employee who defies orders by Federal courts? I could see this happening in some blue states. How would Trusk (Trump-Musk) react to that?

Any congressional solution will simply get bogged down along party lines. The GOP are such cultish clowns that they would rather die before they put their country first. Remember, many of them are cross-eyed, loud-mouthed, uneducated, religious blockheads like EmptyG and Bobo, who think the End Times are upon us and the Rapture is nigh and nothing matters except Trump owning the Holy Land for their benefit.
