Depends on what you mean by too many. There are a lot that is for sure. That's because we don't train enough and the fact that we are a rich country full of old people means the demand is growing all the time.

We could have fewer but we would have to train more and we aren't producing the calibre of people in the right quantity.

As long as they speak English, have a sense of our culture and are decently trained I'm not bothered.

The health service is infested with foreigners. We have a massive crisis in graduate employment here of our people. I'm not talking race, I means stuff like talking English fluently, a imperative when patient doctor communication means the difference between life and death at times. If the NHS was properly managed, rather than dependant on a massive budget margin....and everyone was talking the same language. It'd work like at the start.

Police numbers have fallen as crime rates have fallen.

It's silly to mistake mere correlation for causation isn't it? For example; With the largest Parish Church in the UK Boston in Lincolnshire has the highest murder rate in Britain! BTW, the murder rate is a function of murder crimes per 100,000, so a single or double-murder in a small market town like Boston will bump it right up the annual table even while the overall trend is low-to-none. This is a fine example of 'dodgy statistics' at work.
