Jews have lived there for thousands of years, and nobody "seized" land in 1948, the UN carved up a tiny part of the vanquished Ottoman empire into separate Arab and Jewish territories because one side couldn't stop murdering the other.

In some ways, there is no point in agonising over the past. Israel and its jewish inhabitants exist, and it is a meaningless fantasy to imagine transporting them elsewhere. In the here and now, the state of Israel needs to start treating its own Arab inhabitants better, it needs to rein in the settlers, and it needs to push forward a lot more seriously to some form of workable arrangement with the Palestinians.
