Not true. The Golden Eagle never went extinct in Scotland, and the Sea Eagle now also has a healthy population.

Bird-watching is looking up in Scotland.

It's an infinity-percent improvement on ''extinct''.

Yeah, that's not a goose, it's a swan. Fail!

I think that the caption simply referred to the fact that the picture was taken there - nothing to do with national symbols. Also, there are many more Bald Eagles in Canada than in the USA. The only state that has a large population is Alaska.

I was scratching my head until macdoc chimed in...

Alaska has a lot of eagles. We get a lot of swans too, in the summer and into early fall.

It's an American Bald Eagle attacking a Canadian Goose with a funny caption.
A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

It's just a Bald Eagle. They're all American. Canada is American.
And the Canadian Goose is a Trumpeter Swan. Also American.

I believe those swan-things do inhabit the area I live, at least in the spring-early fall. I'm no ornothologist, but we do have a lot of Bald Eagles and Canada Geese here as well. Along with a myriad of assorted species of duck and other birds. I've never seen the eagles attack anything, though I did see one under attack by three ravens once. I think a sparrow might have joined in, but I'm not sure on whose side.
