They seem at the moment to be mostly blaming Britain for all the trouble ,arrests of embassy staff etc .
It will take many more lives before the Mullahs will give up their Theocracy ,if ever .

Just wondering, XC, but are you more of the "a foreign intervention may work, but it may be bloody and expensive" camp, or the "if it takes them 1000 years to develop a civil society, then that's how long it takes them" camp? Those are two cartoonish extremes, but I hope you'll tell how you look at the situation there regarding the eventual end of the theocracy.

I honestly have no idea.Manofnofaith wrote:Just wondering, XC, but are you more of the "a foreign intervention may work, but it may be bloody and expensive" camp, or the "if it takes them 1000 years to develop a civil society, then that's how long it takes them" camp? Either extreme - and most things in the middle - would almost certainly result in a lot of bloodshed. International pressure, sanctions, condemnation, dirty tricks (oh yes, they are going on!) and both overt and covert support for opposition groups have had limited success. Nobody wants (or can afford) another Iraq. Nobody (except their fellow islamists) wants to see Iran with a bomb.
One way or another, there will be a lot more trouble there before it gets better.
