Austerity 2: Die Harder.

Post by Clinton Huxley » Wed Jun 26, 2013 2:12 pm

So, Osborne has announced the latest round of cuts. 5% cut for museums, ex-pat pensioners in Spain won't get the winter fuel allowance, budgets elsewhere cut by 5-10%, apart from the security services, who get a 3.4% increase, presumably to buy a shed-load more hard drives.

Apparently, we are out of intensive care but I can't see it.

Out of intensive care, straight into a wheelchair, bundled out into the cold to die in the car park.

So I noticed public sector workers are no longer guaranteed a pay rise, does this include all levels of government?

Do you think you could get MPs to vote for a pay freeze for themselves?

No but they are public sector workers, whether they like it or not. Austerity, we're all in it together etc.

They'd have to put up their fees for asking questions in parliament.

Here's a chart showing the cuts made over the recent past plus the ones announced today.

Expect your bins to be emptied every two to three months..
