Don't be silly if you leave it full we will prosecute you for endangering burglars lives (someone did sue the council for making it to easy to break into , they broke they back diving into it when it was closed and last I herd they at least partially won)

You say that like it would be wrong. In any civilized country, the physical well being of the burglar would take priority over the property of a negligent homeowner who should have taken more reasonable steps to secure a dangerous item.

Nonsense. Trespassers are entitled to only "ordinary care" from the landowner upon whose premises they are trespassing. I faced this all the time because there were cliffs on my property...and other hazards, both natural and man-made...and the law is quite clear that my ONLY obligation to a trespasser (burgler) is not to deliberately create or set a trap to harm them. If they fall in the pool and break their neck while creeping through my yard in the dark enroute to breaking in to my house, they're just fucked, as they should be.
