50,000 Finns sign for same sex marriage rights in 14 hours

So there has been quite a bit of discussion over here whether we should get a law giving equal marriage rights to same sex couples. The legislative bodies have barred the issue from processing in the parliament until now, but a recent law about citizen initiatives says that any initiative that gets 50,000 signatures within six months from opening should be processed by the parliament.

This initiative was opened today at midnight, and it already got the needed 50,000 signatures, in just 14.5 hours (of which half was night time, and the signing rate seems limited by the internet service). May be added, that there are only a little more than 5 million Finns, so that is almost 1% of the population.

That's a nice graph. I can guess what the yellow one is but the either have me flabbergasted.

the graph has been develeping, but right now, red is the 50 000 needed to get it processed, light blue at about 70 000 is the most succesful initiative to date (about forbidding fur farming , took them months to get those names in) magenta at 120000 is a rather arbitrary line indicating the votes a small party in out parliament might get.
