That's a ridiculous thing to say. How could the cops know that incendiary bombs ( known as "burners" ) could start a fire? That was just a tragic and unforseen accident.

When they said "burn the bastard" over the air, they just meant embarass him, and persuade him to surrender peacefully.

Why would they deliberately burn the place down, when they had no way of knowing if he had a hostage? That would just be idiotic.

Yeah, they burned him down alright. Pretty standard really.

They did a piss poor job of it though. Luckily, for them, the public is so disgusted by gun violence at this time they're likely to be favoured with a blind eye.

No, he was a dead man regardless. He had one option, and that was to turn himself over to the press secretly, but he wasn't interested in being taken alive as I understand it.
