No shit. If you ever watch the videos of "The Power of Myth," Moyers is always, "But what about Jesus, Joe?" Rrrr.

And Moyers even fought with him at one point--
Joseph Campbell was what, in his 80s, I think? pretty close to death when he made that series. And he knew it-- was very frank about it.
And when Bill Moyers asked him about the meaning of life, Campbell said, "Oh, life doesn't have a meaning. It's just cells reproducing themselves..." (or words to that effect.) And Moyers was like, "You don't believe that! You can't believe that's true!"

Campbell eventually gave up trying to say exactly what he meant, and tossed out an allegory. Which Bill didn't get.

At least Campbell was able to be friendly-- poke some gentle fun at him. I got pissed off on his behalf.
