Police say cannabis growers are moving away from commercial and industrial sites towards ordinary houses. But how can you spot a cannabis farm in your street?

Cannabis growing in the suburbs is soaring, with about 21 farms or factories being discovered every day, a new report by the Association of Chief Police Officers says.

The problem has persisted for a while, with insurer Aviva reporting a 30% year-on-year increase in cannabis damage claims last year as criminals turned to rented houses to cultivate plants.

Now the Association of Chief Police Officers (Acpo) says most of the cannabis consumed in Britain is homegrown and is urging the public to keep an eye out for suspicious behaviour in their neighbourhood.

And householders might just want to know for their own sake too.

They don't stay in one place long enough.
The meter man doesn't call, if there is nobody registered as a customer.
So they hotwire the power, so there is no record of power being used, and no meter man calls till someone registers. By then they are long-gone.

Dunno about the seeds but Coca plants and leaves are illegal in the US and UK and will therefore be tricky to obtain, I imagine.

Here in the UK it is not illegal to buy, sell or possess cannabis seeds but it is illegal to germinate them. I understand that they can be acquired quite readily from sources in NL. - Doing so may well incur unwanted attention from concerned agencies, though.

You can buy coca seeds and cuttings from NL, but they're not that easy to grow in the early stages. To make cocaine, you'd also need fuck loads of leaves and be comfortable doing acid/base extractions in your kitchen.

A former roommate and I tried to grow pot back in our college days. We failed miserably at growing the pot, but we did manage to grow a lot of mildew and bugs.

Hemp Seeds are fairly easy to get in the Netherlands... of course, getting them sent across border without getting in trouble is something else.
Also, I don't think coca seeds are that easy to get... Coca is a hardy plant, but its climate requirements are harder to reproduce away from the Andes... not to mention that the Cartels like being the only source, and nobody is ready to be tagged as the guy who's empowering monopoly breakers.

Seriously? Man, the NL have coca growing on their soil and they are passing illegal regs about sale of hemp products being reserved for residents? That's what I call knowing how to fix priorities.
