It's the usual flippant and glib commenter about the American "delay" in entering the war, and how we supposedly waited until the war was already won and then just jumped in and stole all the glory...etc. etc. you've heard them, I'm sure.

Yeah, but they're a minority (a loud minority). I put them in with the guys that say their country won WWII single-handed, from any country. Most of the people I discuss this with get ALL their WWII information from TV and the movies.
