Fairfax and big business

Post by Hermit » Sat Feb 04, 2012 3:07 pm

Gina Rinehart is the richest person in Australia, a mining magnate, climate change denier and general right winger. Yesterday she also became the biggest shareholder of the Fairfax newspaper group. She now owns 12.5 % of the The Canberra Times, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, The Australian Financial Review and radio station 3AW. Undoubtedly she will get a seat on the board of directors, and I bet she'll be able to manipulate like minds onto other seats of the board as opportunities arise.

Of course the usual denials are made that she, or anyone else on the board will interfere with editorial policy or try to influence news reportage and discussion. Unfortunately for her, GetUP Australia has obtained and published an excerpt of a closed meeting she participated in July last year. I suggest you watch and/or download it before it gets hit with a takedown order.

Only reason gina rinehart is a climate change denier is that it gets in her way of making more money.

My heart bleeds for her.

The Pope was today knocked down at the start of Christmas mass by a woman who hopped over the barriers. The woman was said to be, "Mentally unstable."

Which is probably why she went unnoticed among a crowd of Christians.

All the money in the world doesn't buy you happiness, especially in your own family...

Her children jockey like snarling hyaenas for the millions dollars of scraps from her obscene wealth...
Nurse, where the fuck's my cardigan?
And my gin!
