What's the "Ionian Flowering"?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ionia#History
Ionia was settled by the Greeks probably during the 11th century BC.The most important city was Miletus (the Milawanta of Hittites), the city where the west philosophy began and the homeland of Thales, Anaximander and Anaximenes. They were natural-philosophers of the Ionian school of philosophy and tried to explain the phenomena according to no-supernatural laws. They also searched a simple material-form behind the appearances of things (origin) and this conception had a great influence on the early archaic art in Greece.
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

The Net is best considered analogous to communication with disincarnate intelligences. As any neophyte would tell you. Do not invoke that which you have no facility to banish.

I think you will find that killing all the Jews was not option 1 even for the Nazi Leadership (that was deportation - to anywhere else, but the US, British and French refused to accept them) - and certainly extermination wasn't a policy that was publically advocated, even to the members of the Nazi Party.
Most Nazi's never killed anyone, let alone Jews - and most of those doing the actual killing were not even members of the Nazi Party.
FWIW I think the Nazis were right to remove the Jews and the Masons for simple pragmatic reasons - can't have any group operating primarily for own benefit, and not for the greater tribe. Albeit killing 'em was a tad naughty......

I think this is what he's referring to. (Scroll down to "Pre-Christian" for the pertinentest parts.)

It was a tame and place where some bright minds thought up some great science. But some people got all pissy because if the sun and moon are mere glowing hot rocks, then where does that leave Apollo and Artemis?
