What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

World's Most Expensive Motorway Pile Up
Just posted this elsewhere, and thought I'd share it here too. Namely, news of a motorway pile up in Japan, which featured no less than fourteen written-off supercars, including a Lamborghini Diablo, three Mercedes-Benzes, and, wait for it, no less than eight Ferraris.
Wired.com has the details here, with a nice video featuring the aftermath (commentary in Japanese).
Total cost of the accident in terms of written off cars? $3.8 million.
The guy who started it is looking at a possible three month jail sentence.
