The news is one thing, but for many right-wing Americans the left has infiltrated all aspects of the media and Hollywood is an enemy.
In the last few years I've seen right-wing people throw tantrums over Disney diversifying their movies by adding stories from people of colour (like Moana). I've read an out-pouring of right-wing grief because some movie or other went mainly female or black (laughably Black Panther was dubbed racist for a lack of white people). I've seen comment sections lit on Alt-Right fire because some video game or other had female or LGBT representation. And on and on. A litany of mostly white, male tears.
But what is the alternative they propose? Disney, a Worldwide studio looking to tap into global markets, only make Snow White movies? That they make movies which represent white supremacy, homophobic views, and extreme forms of sexism that will be massively unpopular, won't sell and attack the people under their employment? Do they want WW2 movies sympathetic to Adolf Hitler or colonialism?
You certainly don't see any of that here. Who has criticized Moana? My kids have Moana dolls, Tiana dolls, and Elena of Avalor. I've never heard anyone - not even the right wingers here - say anything about there being Disney characters of different colors.
Where did you see anythinga bout Black Panther being black. Black Panther was always black.
Maybe there are some other forums where this happens.
Do you have any links or examples? Articles?
I would expect that there are some people who have bitched and moaned about a lot of different things. However, to say that there is any significant number of people ranting about Moana, etc, I think is a gross exaggeration. Where?

The thing that was interesting in the class was every time the professor said ‘Al Qaeda’ his shoulders went up, But you know, it is that you don’t say ‘America’ with an intensity, you don’t say ‘England’ with the intensity. You don’t say ‘the army’ with the intensity,” she continued. “... But you say these names [Al Qaeda] because you want that word to carry weight. You want it to be something.” - Ilhan Omar
