I see that the British Post Office has issued a series of stamps depicting "classic album" covers:

Given that
The artwork and not necessarily the music on the album was at the forefront of the selectors' minds.
and given the absence of Peter Blake's cover for Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, one is bound to speculate whether copyright issues had a hand in the final selection. And surely Dark Side of the Moon is the iconic Floyd album cover.

And all our yesterdays have lighted fools
The way to dusty death. Out, out brief candle
Life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage
And then is heard no more. It is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing. [Macbeth]
It am wicked to mock the afflicted. [BH (Calcutta), failed]

Division Bell. Meh.
Most of the others are pretty iconic - even though I can't stick Coldplay, I can still see why it's there - but Division Bell?

The best album cover is something disturbing like the one with the girl holding her intestines. make that into a stamp.

I concur. No
Abbey Road or
Let it Be either, and these might be even better choices, as Sgt. Peppers probably wouldn't scale down to a stamp that well.

The
White Album by you-know-who.
And where the hell are Led Zeppelin?

Those look really cool.
From what I understand our 2010 issue of postal stamps include Mother Teresa.
