I'm becoming increasingly enamoured by the sound of the Tarogato...

What happens when Armenian and America folk traditions are combined by the hands of a virtuoso instrumentalist? Tigran Hamasyan, that's what.

@MagpiePirates

"AnalogWeapon supplied a bunch of Magpie Pirates with a guide track and a photograph and asked them to record an ambient piece based on them. This continuous ambient piece was constructed with the subsequent recordings by overlapping pieces end-to-end, matching pieces that complimented each other. The original guide tracks were not included in the final mix. The artists weren't aware of the intent when they created and delivered the work. The result has a feel of tides coming and going. Hence 'Cloaked Tide'."

The lyrics are about how his mare has given birth to seven stallions in seven seasons and stlll produces the best milk, making his butter-blood tea the best in the village.

Said Peter...what you're requesting just isn't my bag
Said Daemon, who's sorry too, but y'see we didn't have no choice
And our hands they are many and we'd be of one voice
We've come all the way from Wigan to get up and state
Our case for survival before it's too late

Turn stone to bread, said Daemon Duncetan
Turn stone to bread right away...
