It seemed to claim that the big hits of today are written and performed by a small group. As log as you do not listen to any million selling hits, you are listening to the same mix of wannabees, garage bands and self produced metal. There is an awful lot of material coming out. It may be harder to find the good stuff among it all. I ended up finding a Norwegian group coming from the iPod of a friend of my daughter's in high school. They are no longer friends, actually due to Trump.

Said Daemon, who's sorry too, but y'see we didn't have no choice
And our hands they are many and we'd be of one voice
We've come all the way from Wigan to get up and state
Our case for survival before it's too late

One more. The trumpeter is the keyboard player. She occasionally switches with the drummer. Balalalaika bass player never switches. Scratch that. It looks like they all play whatever.

Scot Dutchy wrote:While I partially agree with you. The pop music of the day is rubbish as proven in that video. If Bieber can make it any git can. The guy is totally devoid of talent like so many others. Without their studios they would be worthless.
That video proves nothing but that the music of the 60s is different to the music of now, just as it's different to the music of the 1860s. If you think it's better then that's great - that's your experience. As Duke Ellington said, "There's only two kinds of music: the good stuff and the other stuff, and who's interested in the other stuff(?)" But, as I said, asserting that the music you like is better than the stuff other people like because you like it is, I'm afraid, just a kind of snobbishness.

Then it may snobbishness but the music is crap and nothing will change my mind. Music of all types has always been part of my life and I have a pretty good ear. The video proves that they dont take risks anymore and that people are brainwashed and hooked onto the present day crap. If you cant see it well I am sorry. One day there will be one pop song that will satisfy all needs.

The CDR of modern pop does nothing for me.It cannot convey emotions such as joy, sadness, contemplation, excitement or any other 'unique to the individual' emotions except a universal monotony designed to keep the moguls pockets jingling.

If you think pop music is crap then you're listening to the wrong kind of pop music.

No I am not. I agree with Alan it one monotonous sound wallpaper. Nobody takes risks. Nothing new is tried. As I said if Bieber can do it anyone can and it has been proven.

And you can't tell the guys from the girls, or hear the words. It's just BANG BANG BANG!

It's all been downhill since the invention of the spinet anyway.
