I just realised - it's a riff on Inca Roads.

I am attempting to sort through a month’s credit card bills while listening to Hot Rats, original version.

Done!
It was just sorting two piles and looking for a single odd receipt. Finished as Son of Mr Green Genes was half done.

One of the better versions of lost song Rollo (came out later, on live album from 72 in the jazzy version) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imaginary_Diseases

It is buried in the St Alphonso song. Here is a cover which is only the fast part of Rollo

Said Peter...what you're requesting just isn't my bag
Said Daemon, who's sorry too, but y'see we didn't have no choice
And our hands they are many and we'd be of one voice
We've come all the way from Wigan to get up and state
Our case for survival before it's too late

Turn stone to bread, said Daemon Duncetan
Turn stone to bread right away...

Rollo had lyrics once upon a time. It flows from the end of Alphonso/Father Oblivion. Judge Moore and the 13-year old make a cameo appearance. She knows how to nasty!

Father Vivian O'Blivion
Resplendent in his frock
Was whipping up the batter
For the pancakes of his flock
He was looking rather bleary
(He forgot to watch the clock)
'Cause the night before
Behind the door
A leprechaun had stroked (he stroked it) . . .
The night before
Behind the door
A leprechaun had stroked (he stroked it) . . .
The night before
Behind the door
A leprechaun had stroked . . . his . . .
Sma-ah-ah
Ah-ah-ah
Ah-ah-ah
Ah-ah-ah
Ah-ah-ah
Ah-ah-ah
Ahhh (stroked his smock)
Set him off in such a frenzy
He sang LOCK AROUND THE CROCK
An' he topped it off with a . . .
An' he topped it off with a . . .
An' he topped it off with a . . .
WOO WOO WOO
WOO WOO WOO
WOO WOO WOO
As he stumbled on his COCK
(Cakes! Cakes! Cakes! Cakes!)
He was delighted as it stiffened
And ripped right through his sock
Oh, Saint Alfonzo would be proud of me
PROUD OF ME
PROUD OF ME
He shouted down the block
Dominus Vo-bisque 'em
Et come spear a tu-tu,
Oh!
Won't you eat my sleazy pancakes
Just for Saintly Alfonzo
They're so light 'n fluffy-white
We'll raise a fortune by tonite
They're so light 'n fluffy-white
We'll raise a fortune by tonite
They're so light 'n fluffy-brown
They're the finest in the town
They're so light 'n fluffy-brown
They're the finest in the town
Good morning, your Highness
Ooo-ooo-ooo
I brought you your snow shoes
Ooo-ooo-ooo, yeah!
Good morning, your Highness
Ooo-ooo-ooo
I brought you your snow shoes
Ooo-ooo-ooo

Na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-nanook
Na-na-na-na-na-nanook-oh
Nanook
Rubs it
Saint
Al
Al
Fo-fo-fo
Fo-fo-fo-fo-fo-fonzo

Saint Alfonzo really loves it when he rubs it for him
I have seen him rubbin' it
I have seen him rubbin' it
I have, I have a-seen him stroke his weenie
(It was teenie)
Rub it, rub it, rub it, rub it, rub
Nanook rubs it, Alfie loves it
Nanook rubs it, Alfie loves it
Nanook rubs it, Alfie loves it
Nanook's rubbin' it, 'n Alfie's lovin' it
Saint Alfonzo, can you hear us praying to you?
Can you fix my Chevy?
Boy, you're really heavy
Here's the church and here's the steeple
Open up and see the people
Some are kneelin', some are standin'
All the money they are handing
To some asshole with a basket
Where it goes we dare not ask it
Nanook rubs it, Alfie loves it
This here basket, really shoves it
Here's your quarter, here's your dollar
Let's play ring around the collar
Hup! Hey, get it now!
(Hey, get it now! He took all your little gifts)

THANK YOU,
THANK YOU,
THANK YOU,
THANK YOU.

Dominus Vo-bisque 'em
Et come spear a tu-tu,

Apostrophe is one of my favorite Zappa album. It got a bit too much notice and airplay, so represents Zappa disproportianately in the critics and record industry write ups. He only had two hit singles. The other was Valley Girl.

But I like this album because he sings the whole album, unlike most that followed.

He had a No1 in Finland with Dancing Fool, which contains one of the greatest stanzas in the history of popular music lyrics...

"One of my legs is shorter than the other,
And both my feets too long."

Although I'm a huge fan of Zappa his lyrics are for me the weakest side of his talents. Many of them are scornful, misogynistic and sneering sadly. Not all of course. Some are beautifully absurd - Montana, Son of Orange county and others. His musical composition is the real turn on for me. Non aficionados might be surprised at the beauty of many of his pieces.

I always meant to see him live but never managed. Luckily and perhaps second best I have seen Dweezil twice.

A pity about his feud with the rest of the family though.

Goin' back home
To the Village of the Sun
Out in back of Palmdale
Where the turkey farmers run, I done
Made up my mind
And I know I'm gonna go to Sun
Village, good God I hope the
Wind don't blow

It take the paint off your car
And wreck your windshield too,
I don't know how the people stand it,
But I guess they do
Cause they're all still there,
Even Johnny Franklin too
In the Village of the Sun
Village of the Sun
Village of the Sun, son
Sun Village to you-ooo-ooo-ooo-ooo-ooo, well!
I always wondered who Johnny Franklin was.

The lyrics are pften juvenile. Past Valley Girl he got into all kinds of rants. The anti religion ones can be funny.

I’ve pretty much learned to tolerate most of the lyrics of the 70s if the song is OK as music. A lot of the late period lyrics are crap. Thus I can reduce 3 late period albums to one CD I listen to.

Analyses, if any, tend to be here
http://globalia.net/donlope/fz/songs/Vi ... e_Sun.html

The lyrics relate to a California place. Oh there was more at the Russian site:
When I was in high school, in Lancaster, I formed my first band, the Black-Outs...
This was the only R&B band in the entire Mojave Desert at that time. Three of the guys (Johnny Franklin, Carter Franklin and Wayne Lyles) were black, the Salazr brothers were Mexican and Terry Wimberly represented the other oppressed people of the earth.

Nonfan forced to play 3 albums. He really suffered through Joe’s Garage:

https://www.avclub.com/can-you-be-a-fan ... 1820520135

Man, did I hate it. Joe’s Garage may be the most singularly grueling listening experience I’ve ever ruined several commutes with, a series of sunsets and sunrises over which I grew increasingly bummed about having to return to it. Still, it’s apparent why everyone insisted I give it a shot, as it most crystallizes what may be the central obstacle to Zappa: getting over the idea that you’re listening to someone so immensely, idiosyncratically talented expend all his genius jacking off in your ear. Most egregiously the album’s “skits” are interminable—even this guy’s jokes go on way too long!—turning the occasional inspired bit of silliness into a nine-minute slog even Lorne Michaels would balk at. Meanwhile, whatever musical merits each song has are largely drowned out by their endless lyrics about fucking: fucking “Catholic Girls”; fucking groupies; fucking STD-ridden Jack In The Box employees; fucking gay, blowjob-dispensing sex-bots; prisoners fucking each other in the ass with “a sausage that’ll make you fart.” It’s enough to make you celibate. Walking around with it in my earbuds, I mostly just felt embarrassed.

Zappa hired handsome drummers, often playing shirtless on stage, starting with the late Mothers Flo and Eddie lineup. Aynsley Dunbar here.
