Said Daemon, who's sorry too, but y'see we didn't have no choice

Reading a Beatles book. It's been 5 years since the last one. Anyway, the song:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wah-Wah_(song)

relates to George at the Let It Be sessions, and ultimately at John in the Quarrymen. He let Paul in as an equal, but George had to wait until he had demonstrated Raunchy to John 2 months later. Stories place this audition in 2 places.

That was his only No1 hit. A dance floor favourite with the first wave of the post-war counter-culture, just before rock'n'roll came along and changed everything forever.

I'm reading Ken McNab's book on the last 2 years of the Beatles. It's OK, just so so among others.

Abbey Road is the one album I can't remember when I bought it. It came out the fall I returned to American school. The principal sent me home to get a haircut. I did, but then I did not get one for a year.

I had bought a singles in 68 and 69 and I bought the Lennon 45s in 70-71. I had bought McCartney's solo and Let It Be both the months they came out. I may have owned some 30 LPs then, so I played them all. Still not making any connection to Abbey Road. I had discovered cassettes by 1975, so I was compiling Beatles songs by then. I even sold some Beatles LPs, as about 200 LPs was a bit to haul, at every move.

In this same period there was a goofy American compilation called Hey Jude. I never bought that.

Leafing through Ian McDonald's Beatles book, looking for when overdubs start. Most songs were recorded straight live, with a rough vocal, or final vocal on the first album. Vocal overdubs started fairly soon. It's not till Every Little Thing that Paul gets to play another instrument: piano. On I'll Follow The Sun he starts with the acoustic guitar parts. Paul sometimes fell to adding the bass part last as an overdub. Ticket To Ride is where Paul finally gets recorded with a lead guitar part.

I wouldn't call it goofy. It had some great songs on it, most notably "Rain," one of the best songs they ever produced as a band.
People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

That's true. I only had the handful of singles like that on cassette, taped from radio. Then the cassette broke. I did not get it again till the CD era.

Great movie premise.
Down-on-his-luck musician dude wakes up from a coma in an altered reality - a world thats never heard of the Beatles, they never existed.

Mike talks about the borrowed parts of the opening track of the album that changed everything for millions of teenagers. I wasn't even a teen, but by 12 Beatlemania was in full swing. It's a song about Paul fucking a bunch of 17-year olds.

I had this in my iTunes player and oddly it showed the album title but not song titles. Right by the import songs button on the right is a sprocket thing. I never noticed before but it has "look up song titles." I never used that before. It works.
