I finished a draft of my survey for my anthropology paper on heavy metal, and I'd greatly appreciate it if the various people on here who listen to metal could take the 5 minutes that it takes to answer it, it would be a huge help. Thanks!

Thanks, Ashton. I purposefully avoided saying Sabbath because there would be too big a variable for comparison, overshadowing all of those. With Ozzy you get a popular metal performer who's not as kitchy as Motley Crue, but with a link to Sabbath giving deeper credibility.

Honestly, one of my top 3 "Classic" metal bands. (Maiden and Zep being the other two.)
But the question, was "most important" and IMHO, Motorhead bridged the gap between punk and metal, which influenced a great number of bands.

Honestly, one of my top 3 "Classic" metal bands. (Maiden and Zep being the other two.)

In my teens it was Slayer, Supultura, Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, Suicidal Tendencies.... um... and other stuff.
