RIP.
Wikipedia classifies his music as unclassifiable music.

Love it. Ghédalia Tazartès immediately reminded me of Brian Eno's 1975 album, Another Green World, though Tazartès is way edgier. I'd class that album as "strange music" too. If you don't want to listen to the lot, or would like to download selected tracks from it, you can get them here.

I've been an instant fan, for ca. 20 years. Live he is a one-man-orchestra, inhuman voice range as well.

Laddies and gentilwybben. Persimpering the US notional ant rim!

Keep the volume low and be sure to peruse the comments beneath the clip on the Youtube site. Some samples:

"Production Manager: “Larry is great at this, just pick a key and stick to it”
Republicans: “All Keys Matter”"

"Saying her voice is beautiful is just like saying Trump won by a landslide."

"She's opposed to all keys: anti-do, anti-re, anti-mi, antifa."

"This is what happens when you decide to cut funding for the arts."

et cetera.

About Tazartes:
TAZARTES forever!
Nachruf vom 14. Februar 2021
Ein Nachruf aus Zürich
für GHEDALIA TAZARTES (12. Mai 1947 - 9. Februar 2021)

Sehr schön auch der Nachruf im „Wire“ von DENNIS TYFUS (*1979), der mit folgenden Worten endet: *** In November last year we were in touch about a possible future project. His response was as sad as it was beautiful: “I won’t be able to do anything any more, I am very ill, I got two different cancers, one a very bad one. Please don’t worry, I had a wonderful life”.
Thank you Ghédalia Tazartès. Rest in peace! ***

Very much so. I had not thought of that. The singer makes this performance straddle both threads, though.

It's an awful song to begin with.

We need a new one that at least attempts to capture a bit of the great music made in the US.

Now that would be a tall order, but one we could have fun with.

Or more seriously

I doubt we need another moment of silence.
