Here, that would be considered pop music.
They're basically satire....

I can't listen to them on my ipod on the train to work, I always laugh too much. :hehe:

Jazz fusion/rock for me please.
Also, classical.....couldn't live without classical. :nono:

I'll tolerate most stuff (for a while, at least) except Rap.....which I don't class as music.

Actually, I like Rap. I can hear the art that goes into the words. Not that stuff that old people try to do. I listen to Eminem and there is true talent writing those lyrics.
Rap lyrics is great peotry.

Can't stand rap. Hate the pounding rhythm--I can hear the rhythm, God damn it; give me a break--don't like the brutal, crime-centric nature of it, and especially don't like the short, choppy rhyme. That kind of abuse of the tools of poetry hurts my heart. The whole enterprise just reeks of ignorance.

That's probably because you're only hearing that bullshit they play one the radio and not the real stuff.

These days, about the only time I hear it is emanating from automobiles.

Yeah, your hate for it is irrational.
I don't care whether or not you like it but you don't seem to understand it at all. Then you make all these assumptions of what it is.

Assumptions my ass. There's nothing wrong with my ears.

Besides, I run with the poetry crowd, where half the young people are all about hip hop. I hear yards of it. It all sucks.

That hangs his heid and a' that
The coward slave, we pass him by
We dare be puir for a' that.

Genre? Rock! Turn it up to 11, layer the harmonies until dolphins are throwing themselves under speedboats to escape, until the very foundations of the earth start to vibrate and a giant Ronnie James Dio head emerges majestically from the sands of the Sahara!

Explain, please. Where's the pleasure in blowing your ears out with distorted guitars and overly boosted bass? It must be there. Lot's of people love it. I just can't figure it out.
