Well, P.D.Q. Bach is certainly brilliant and hilarious, but I'm going to be alone on that island for a long time (I presume). I'll need something to soothe my nerves.

Hmm, this is true. He's hardly the companion one would like on those long tropical nights.

Marvelous picture !
I won't change my genre, but I would, perhaps be willing to change to Philip Glass - but, even Philip Glass in all of his brilliance never had the capacity and range of emotion that Beethoven encompasses, elicits, evokes (looking for the right word). Beethoven's piano sonatas stir my soul.

Re: What is you fave genre?
I do like a melding of Rock and Classical. It can be "a marriage made in heaven" (so-to-speak). That's one of the reasons I have always loved Queen. I think Genesis' "Trick of the tail" is one of the happier marriages of genres. I have an album (he-he) by Transiberian. It's called "Beethoven's last night". I got it for something to pull my kids in closer to the real deal. I like the TSO album. It has wonderful elements, but it is overwrought, at times and weighs heavily on this listener. I almost think that they try too hard. However, I am only critiquing one recording. Although, come to think of it; I wasn't much in love with one of their xmas albums either, except for the Pachelbel Canon fantasy that is ubiquitously present on radios at xmas time. I think I do appreciate good Rock, though I maintain my allegiance to Classical (and to many of the things that it might include and entail). I used to play Dire Straights all the time. Ah, that
Love over Gold album....hmmmm. It is something more than just Rock. It's artful. John Fogerty/Creedence, not so caught up in art but amazing vocals and straight-forward jamming. I'm kind of an alchemist by nature. I don't usually like things left alone. I am all for mixing. I rarely have any inclination (because I only have so much time for things) to listen to say, the Allman Brothers Band, but even I who would probably rather choose to listen to a Beethoven Sonata know that "In memory of Elizabeth Reed" is one of the best jams I have ever heard played by a band. It's not "Classical" or, even a hybrid. It's good music. I have written too much. Big surprise.

Charlou, thank you for your kind words. I do get verbose, especially when it comes to my passion for music.

Pretty much every genre has some stuff I like. I am not a fan of one particular genre. I do love " Eels" though, and bands like it.

How can you not like rap? Unless you're listening to that commercial, R'n'B shit?

If it can be classed as a genre, Indie/Alternative for me.
