Sorry 'bout the fire
Sorry 'bout the torch
Sorry i had to have my revenge
Send it in a note
Say you cannot come
Say you are still tied to the bed

Sorry, I couldn't choose just one line, or two, or four.

Jesus was a pagan, Woody was a punk
Gandhi was a soldier, Hendrix was a monk
Leonardo was an alien, Plato was a scream
Vincent was a flower child, Elvis was a dream
Kurosawa was a samurai, Achilles was a gimp
Django was a miracle, Rasputin was a pimp
Piaf was a siren, Callas was the sea
Martin was a king on earth
in all his majesty

Come a rain, come a rain now

Confucius was a joker, Kafka was a spook
Rumi was a homey, Bukowski was a duke
Fellini was a scientist, Dante was a thug
Buddha was a cowboy, Amelia was a stud
Einstein was a psychic, Stalin was a hick
Marilyn was Marilyn, Picasso was a trip
Marley was a preacher, Columbus was a dope
Houdini was a rascal, Hank Williams was a ghost

Come a rain, come a rain now
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

On the walls of the day
In the shade of the sun
We wrote down
Another vision of us
We are the challengers of
The unknown
"Be safe," you say
Whatever the mess you are, you're mine, okay?
If that is the custom
I'm down
I'm wild just like a rock, a stone, a tree
And I'm free, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I flow, just like a brook, a stream, the rain
And I fly, just like a bird up in the sky
And I'll surely die, just like a flower plucked
And dragged away and thrown away
And then one day it turns to clay
It blows away, it finds a ray, it finds its way
And there it lays until the rain and sun
Then I breathe, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I grow, just like a baby breastfeeding
And it's beautiful, that's life

How does it feel?
How does it feel?
To be on your own?
No direction home?
A complete unknown?
Like a rolling stone.

Is it you I keep thinking of?
Should I feel like I do?
I've come to know that I miss your love
While I'm not missing you
We run
Til it's gone
Et les fleurs du mal
Won't let you be
You hold the key to an open door
Will I ever be free?
I run with scissors. It makes me feel dangerous Image

Ik loop hier alleen in een te stille stad.
Ik heb eigenlijk nooit last van heimwee gehad.
Maar de mensen ze slapen, de wereld gaat dicht.
En dan denk ik aan Brabant, want daar brand nog licht.

The wonderful thing about libraries and bookstores- even the television or the radio- is that no one is forcing you to read anything, or to go to any particular movie, or to watch something on television or to listen to something on the radio. You have free choice. -Judith Krug

I look at her and she looks at me
In her eyes I see the sea
I can't see what she sees in a man like me
She says she loves me
Her eyes
Her eyes
Her eyes are a blue million miles

Use your wheels. It is what they are for.
Small babies may be placed inside the special cocoons,
which should be left if possible, in a shelter.
Do not attempt to use your own limbs.
If no wheels are available, metal, not organic, limbs
should be employed whenever practical.....

And learn all you should know.

And the waitress is practicing politics
As the businessmen slowly get stoned
Yes, they're sharing a drink they call loneliness
But it's better than drinkin' alone
