No. I believe Crossover is different from Opera/Classical.ghatanothoa wrote:I really despise that stuff DSI. If you are going to listen to opera/classical listen to it. Not a watered down poppified version to appeal to the masses.
I don't want to listen to Opera or classical, but I love Crossover.
Crossover is an up-tempo/modern classical music, NOT a watered down version of opera.
I run with scissors. It makes me feel dangerous

Anyway time for my list. I will listen to anything that is well played and not too commercial (your stuff comes under that for me DSI). I tend towards jazz, funk, blues, metal, rock, techno, punk, ska, reggae, bluegrass and latin to name but a few

Re: What is you fave genre?
I used to say that I liked every genre but country. But... Johnny Cash... Lucinda Williams... Nah! Fuck it! I like every genre!
But I am very fussy within genres. Usually it is the quality of the songwriting / musicianship / performance / energy that gets to me - but in some cases it is simply that I like it and fuck anyone that doesn't!
There are only two genres in the end: Good music, which has something about it that makes listening a pleasure, and the rest.
Yes, I know, it's a cop out, but it's true too.

A book is a version of the world. If you do not like it, ignore it; or offer your own version in return.

First one made me wince. Third one was too cheesy. Second one I liked quite a lot...up until the vocalist started singing. The lyrics seemed to me one long string of cliches, and didn't mach the grandeur of the musicDeep Sea Isopod wrote:

Bond are a classical crossover string quartet.
There are more example if you want, but crossover has something for everyone, I do believe. Try searching for stuff on YT.

People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.
But those letters are not silent.
They're just waiting their turn.

I like "classical" orchestration of existing rock. For example:tattuchu wrote:That actually sounds interesting, and something I might like. But can you give some examplesDeep Sea Isopod wrote:So, I'm the only person here who likes Popera/operatic rock/Classical crossover?![]()

Anything Avant-Garde/Experimental is bound to get my attention. Apart from that, blues, funk, rock, NWOBHM, reggae, dub and John Cale.

I like just about everything, except rap, fucking hate rap.
I listen to whatevedr's on the radio. That means modern country, pop and adult contemporary. I don't care if the artist can't play an instrument, or if they didn't write the song themselves. I just want a good stet of lyrics and a nice voice to listen to.

Re: What is you fave genre?
This is a difficult task to choose only one. I pose the question to myself as if I were allowed to take only one kind of music with me (to the fictitious deserted isle) what would it be? I know that if I had to edit and cull everything out; the thing I would want to listen to would be Classical. At first I thought it would be Bach (meaning, J.S) , but then I am so deeply into Beethoven, right now. In any event, it would be Classical. Verbose enough?
