Yeah it does. Check out the lyric, "I want to hold your hand." To me that just sounds nauseating. Now if they said, "I want to lay you down and flip you over", or something ( :hehe: ) then I might actually be able to relate. It reminds of so-called "innocent" days which are long past.

Holding hands! :ani:

Oh you have me wrong. I don't hate them. I just don't think they're any good. I've went out of my way to explain why (they're sexless, homely, innocuous etc...), you do me a disservice fobbing me off as a "hater".

Haters gonna hate :nono:

People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

The Beatles have their niche in the history books. So much other great music, and so much more nuanced. But The Beatles only had two styles to be honest. One was boring, a throwback to the fifties and before. The other was gibberish which they produced whilst smoking the weed & dropping acid tabs. If it wasn't for the hype which built on itself they'd have vanished into the woodwork of history. Most of the hype was produced by drug crazed music journalists as far gone as they themselves. Anyone want to discuss The White Album? :coffee:

Hmm ... a double album which contains (inter alia) the following tracks:

Back In The USSR
Dear Prudence
The Continuing Story Of Bungalow Bill
While My Guitar Gently Weeps
Happiness Is A Warm Gun
Martha My Dear
I'm So Tired
Blackbird
Piggies
Rocky Raccoon
I Will
Julia
Mother Nature's Son
Sexy Sadie
Helter Skelter
Long, Long, Long
Revolution 1
Cry Baby Cry
Good Night

... and your point is?

Most albums are crap these days. You get 12 songs for 10 dollars as download, but the care and trouble producing those tracks is less.

Yes, that is true. I've noticed with American rock especially it is all a bit samey and risk averse. One thing you can say in The Beatles favor is they did experiment, albeit they had encouragement from a industry still in its youth....

Oh I don't know about that. Sounds like Golden Age Fallacy to me.

When you say, "Fucking fantastic", you mean Captain Fantastic, don't you? No wonder he's smiling! :hehe:

I think the number of bands signed up in the 60s was much fewer. Without mp3s, you could make more money per band on records. So there was a higher threshold to get to record your first record at all.
