It's interesting how some artists were one-hits in one country and not in the other... I wonder what others there are. :ask: Maybe after coffee I can think of some...
I was surprised to discover that the 5.6.7.8's -- famed from the soundtrack to Kill Bill vol. 1 ("Woo hoo") -- were not a one hit wonder, per se. When in doubt, I check Allmusic.com to see if their career was as limited as I recollect it being.

Another one-hit wonder in the UK and Ireland, if not in his not native Italy:

Actually, "Euro hits" are a veritable goldmine of one-hit wonders:

Baccara had 2 hits, not 1. "Yes sir, I can boogie" and "Sorry, I'm a lady"

... and both Iglesias and Baccara had a depressingly strong popular following in at least Finland.

Especially Iglesias :|~

Thankfully, I never heard of the second one. :hehe:

Speaking of Allmusic.com, I just discovered a couple ne sites for music that I was unaware of before. These are Pitchfork and the estimable trouser press, known for snarky reviews, the press was a popular rock magazine which migrated all its reviews to the web sometime in the 80s (I think....).

Speaking of "Turning Japanese," that album is yet another overlooked gem. You can still get New Clear Days on import, but the Vapors Anthology is a better deal as it's basically New Clear Days with a few tracks from Magnets tacked on the end. A lot of strong tracks on Days (Magnets, not really). Personal favorites are Letter From Hiro and Sixty Second Interval.

ETA: My bad. There are tracks on Days I wasn't aware of and cannot comment on. Gtg.
